I'm amused by these vintage Seventeen magazine covers. I much prefer their careful, colorful simplicity to many covers today.

It's also fascinating to see what was of interest to young women throughout the decades. Oh for the days when flirting meant ensnaring your tweed-jacketed young man with a cat's cradle! And I'd still love to attend a Shakespeare Party or a Pancake Party, to be honest. And it doesn't seem like too very long ago that plum lipstick was in vogue, and Winona had "it all - fame, fortune and Johnny."
