colorado

.

It was magical to return to Boulder, Colorado for Memorial Day. The constant blustery wind, the way the Flatirons looked different depending on the time of day (gray, hazy blue, brown, fiery rose pink), the sprawling markets and carnivals in town for the weekend, and the charming, plant-filled home of our friends made it all seems like some dream vacation in another world. Maybe I can attribute the surreality to how dried out I felt (hey, altitude) — or, I mean, how could it not be surreal watching the car curve around roads without railings over such snow-capped peaks?

But besides a brain dazzled by beauty, what I came away with from the trip was a comforted spirit. I'm so happy the boy and I could spend a long weekend doing our favorite things — reuniting with friends we've missed so much, cooking scads of food together, exploring new landscapes, breathing fresh air. (Oh yeah, and catching up on Game of Thrones.)

  1. So beautiful! Mad jealous of your trip - it looks lovely. And 'working' in publishing is a bit of an overstatement... I have interned extensively though! x
